Welcome!

Cornell University's branch of Alpha Epsilon, a national honor society for outstanding biological and agricultural engineers, was established in 1998. We are dedicated to promoting the highest ideals of the engineering profession by recognizing biological and agricultural engineers who manifest worthy qualities of character, scholarship, and professional attainment. We encourage and support improvements in the biological and agricultural engineering that enable this profession to be of greater service to mankind and the planet.

Since 1959, Alpha Epsilon has served to recognize outstanding individuals in the field of Biological and Agricultural Engineering and to promote the profession at universities throughout the nation. At the national level Alpha Epsilon is affiliated with ASABE, the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers, and the annual national meeting of Alpha Epsilon is held at the yearly international meeting of ASABE. Alpha Epsilon and ASABE members share a broad spectrum of professional interests including Biological, Environmental, Agricultural, Food, and Biosystems engineering.

Cornell Graduate and Undergraduate students are nominated for active membership in Alpha Epsilon based on their academic and professional accomplishments in their respective programs. Faculty in the Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering are invited to participate as honorary members.

The Cornell chapter of Alpha Epsilon was founded in 1998 and since then we have hosted various social events for the department and participated in community outreach and service. Some of the events we are planning to host this year include a faculty lunch, grad school panel, and a BEE major information session/opportunities panel.
